Risk structured.Enduring protection.

Mesa Insurance is a property and casualty brokerage in Salt Lake City. We map what you have, structure the program against it, and place last — not first.

Insurance looks solved on the day it is signed. It is tested later.

Limits are chosen, a carrier is selected, a binder issues. Nothing about that day tells you whether the program will hold when something happens.

Programs fail later — when a lender needs a certificate by Friday, when an entity is added and nobody is sure which policy covers it, when a loss happens on a Saturday and the number on the declarations page reaches a queue on Monday.

How we work

We start with the whole picture and place last, not first.

Four steps, in order, on every engagement. You know which one you are in, and what comes next.

The same four steps, whether the program is a single building or a household spread across two states. Nothing about it changes with the size of the account.

01

Map what you have

Every asset, entity and operation onto one schedule — property, liability, vehicles, marine, articles, and the entities that own them. Most of the value of this step is finding what nobody had written down.

02

Structure the program

Limits, attachments and retentions set against each other rather than one at a time. Where the umbrella sits, what the underlying has to be for it to sit there, and which retentions you are willing to fund.

03

Place to the structure

Only now do we go to market. Carriers are selected against the structure and the asset, not against whoever quoted fastest. Every viable bid is shown to you, including the ones we do not recommend.

04

Hold it together

Certificates, endorsements, mid-term changes, and a stewardship review before renewal. This is the part most programs are missing.

Who we work with

The question is not which category you fit.

Mesa places across the full property and casualty spectrum — commercial and personal, admitted and surplus lines. What matters is what you own, what you operate, and what would be hard to replace.

Business owners and operators

General and excess liability, property, commercial auto, workers' compensation, and management and professional lines.

Real estate owners and developers

Owned, leased and under development. Schedules, blanket limits, valuation, lender and lease compliance.

High-net-worth households

Primary and secondary residences, collections, marine, personal excess, and the entities that hold them.

Family and investment offices

Coverage coordinated across entities, generations and states, on a single stewardship cadence.

Contractors and active construction

Course of construction, builder's risk, and contractor- and owner-controlled wrap-up programs.

Asset-heavy operations

Fleets, equipment, inventory, premises and product exposure across multiple locations.

Most programs cross more than one of these, and the lines interact — a change in any one of them moves the others. If your exposure does not look like anything on this list, that is normal. Tell us what you have.
